Realistically speaking, it does make sense though. I mean, the alarm triggered by the dynamite is one that is based on the sound of the explosion (detonation). Its not linked to the alarm/security system of the building you can tampered with a EMP tool. :)

But its just a perspective, not saying its in the rule :)

Agree with BronzeKnight about sound.

Also, an electromagnetic pulse disables ELECTRONIC devices. Dynamite is a physical device and would be unaffected by EMP (IRL). Not saying the rules agree, but Burgle Bros DOES stick pretty tight to its 'real life' theme...

I also had this happen in game #352024258. I undid the moves and did something else, but it was rather annoying that it didn't work. It might not be realistic, but neither is a tiara making you visible from the next room, keeping pets in a safe, or a stamp making events happen if you do fewer actions.

A sound may draw attention, but the EMP would prevent a guard from activating the *alarm system* when investigating.
As for realism, it's worth remembering that the guard will come to the room with a giant hole you blew in the wall, see nobody is there, and then give an All's Clear and deactivate the alarm before they *leave the room normally* and not even look through the hole, let alone step through it.

Also apparently you can't just leave a deadbolt unlocked when you leave.

"Realism" is not an argument to be making here
