I have this same issue.

Same situation except I think my discovery marker was already in the last spot, but it didn't move as a result of the bonuses I got on the ship right before. Since I couldn't tell whether there was a space to move the discovery marker (and I had >= 3 coins if there was space), I tried to F5 the game. Exact same messages and display experience as others reported.
I'm on up-to-date Firefox. The borked table wouldn't even load in Chrome when I went to try that. We can't finish the game, nor access the menu that would allow concede. Timers and scores are missing.

Same! I got "application loading" and "connecting to game" but I can't do anything and I just see a big marker. This happened when I got to the last space of the discovery track using 3 gold > 1 point action from the upgrade.
