Similar issue on iPad Air 2 using current a Chrome browser. Just update iOS 13.5.1

The only time the bga page makes sound is when interacting with the volume control. It makes a sound if you slide it up or down.

I almost missed my turn and probably bored the other players not realizing my turn was up.

Issue in Yahtzee, Potion Explosion and other games.

I notice I don’t have sound initially, but if I toggle the sound button off and on, it then works.

Brand new iPad Pro. No sounds, no chat, no music. Just silence. Same on my iPhone.

Safari (on iOS and MacOS) will only allow pages to play sound in response to direct user interaction. Probably the best way to deal with this is to use the web audio API (webaudio.github.io/web-audio-api/ ) to create a context which, once activated, can be used to play any subsequent noises. Activation can occur in the handler of any user-initiated event e.g. touchstart, mousedown, but not onload. (Example at www.mattmontag.com/web/unlock-web-audio-in-safari-for-ios-and-macos )

Same here, no sound when playing.
iPad Pro 1st gen. iOS 13.5.1. Chrome 83.0.4103.88.

Doing what helpfulturn did, I managed to get sound once or twice, but still don't know the correct sequence because have done that very occasionally.

Not sure is this page has been edited recently, but it says that there are no support for iPad or any tablet.

I have no sound, and no button to access the sound. When I load the website, I can see the sound button load briefly at the top, but then it disappears before I can click on it.

I still have the same issue, now on iPad Pro 1st gen. iOS 14.2 Chrome 86.0.4240.93

Only difference is that I now know how to work around it.

I need to mute, and only unmute right before I'm going to do an action (rolling a dice, playing a card and so on). You can't be too quick in doing this as it will only work if you wait +/- 1 sec between unmuting and your action.

Doesn’t work for iOS 13. Sound plays in the sound settings section and then immediately when the next game starts (the game starting sound ). But after that no more sounds. No sounds when it’s your turn or others move or victory etc. silent. Is it an iOS 13 issue?

I’m having the same problem. No sound when playing in Safari on iPad 6th Gen with iOS 14.4. I can toggle the sound on/off and I get the confirming blip noise when it’s back on, but no sound plays in the games.

Problem is that on iPad and iPhone the sound is blocked if it is not triggered by user interaction:

The following does play as a proof of concept the audio (just not on the right moment):

If you remove the handler after that, it might or might not keep on working for the same audiofile. On other audio tags it still rejects.

I have the same issue I have no sound on my iPad air 2 or my iPad 5 using chrome or safari. If I move the volume slider up and down like 10-20 times it'll work, although sometimes it'll break again midgame and I have to do that again. But every time I start a new game it has no sound to start.
