I am not sure if that's really helpful. From my experience, the limiting factor on desktop is usually the height of the view so reducing the right part wouldnt change much.
Unless you are thinking of something to temporarily display the map completely fullscreen, removing all other éléments ?

It's really difficult to see the map. I can Zoom in but then I lose all sense of where I am within the whole map.

I usually play on Chrome on Galaxy Tab A

Having the full screen for the map would make a huge difference when zoomed in, and could allow the default zoom to be closer in, which would be a huge help.

A solution that could work in this case is to have the player boards in an overlay at the bottom of the screen, similar to what Ark Nova does for the hand of cards (several other BGA games use a similar strategy).

Then the map could be displayed larger as the main thing on the screen, and the player boards can be raised and lowered as needed.

@walkie : I am curious about this because having the board floating at the bottom would hide something like 1/3 of the map height so I dont see how this could be manageable. And sure you can retract/open them at will but it seems to me like something that you always want to have in sight, at least for your information.

A summary of your information (power, popularity, resources, etc.) could still be shown in the player panel to the right. That would take up a lot less horizontal space. Then the action board could be expanded as needed.

adding an expanding/ contracting icon for each window of the game will allow users to toggle and view at will. removing all data of premature quitting players will aid in declutter.
