It’s on page 13 of the Terraforming Mara rule book which you can find here on the Fryxgames website: www.fryxgames.se/TerraformingMars/TMRULESFINAL.pdf

On page 13, under game variants and then the draft option, skip to the fourth paragraph, “drafting is not used in the first generation…”

I’m not surprised you thought this is the way to play as so many players play with this unofficial draft rule to draft the first ten cards. It’s like getting money on free parking in Monopoly, lol. Many will probably request the option if you take it away. Personally I dislike drafting the first ten cards as you’re drafting blind, and you could be passing all the Jupiter tags to Saturn Systems, you just don’t know. So if the official drafting rules from the rule book are presented as an option I will always pick that option. Drafting after initial information is revealed is good and fine, but drafting blind is just giving the win to the lucky fool who saves the right cards.

Tournaments like world board championships have a draft for the initial hands but doesn't do 10 card pods.
They draft 5 cards to the left. Then another 5 cards to the right.
You also draft corps PRIOR to that. They usually use 4 corps for the draft.

I like your tournament rules better than a blind draft, as people at least get a chance to see some of the corporations that people might be saving, except for everyone’s first draft pick of course.

What might be better is an open draft for the corporations, that is, four corporations per player dealt to a common space on the table, and everyone getting a chance to take one, then another, perhaps in reverse player order. In this way, no one would be drafting blind with the initial ten cards.

There are a lot of variants that all have their merits. But for starters please implement the rules as explicitely written (which is not drafting the first hand).
Save any variants for later.

you really need to draft the first 10 cards for competitive play. so it should remain an option...
