This game is playable as/is of course, but IMO, it's very difficult to follow what's happened without seeing the piece movement from your opponent's previous turn.

This feature is actually built-in to the BGA interface! You can click anywhere in the game log and select "replay from this turn." It will show you every step of the game, starting at that point and ending at the current turn. This is a great way to observe what just recently occurred.

Is this feature insufficient for what you're asking for? If so, what more are you looking for in this scenario?

I know it's tempting to rely on the built-in replay feature for this, but IMO, it would not be a very satisfying experience to have to replay the last turn every time I take my turn in a game. I will try to be on the lookout as I play my turns to see if there are games that solve this in an elegant way.

Maybe there's a way for you to trigger the built-in replay on load somehow?

That is a nice idea. A built-in replay on load is something we will look into. Integrating a "replay last move" button is another option.

We are also looking into adding more info to the game log. Instead of "therift289 moved a frog," it will say "therift289 moved a frog from B2 to B3" for example. This should also add some clarity.
